Week 8 - 14 : Studying inside the classroom (teaching presentation).

Teaching  Presentation

After  7  weeks  of  teaching  presentation.  All  the  comments  from  every  mistake  and  also  mine.  These  are  things  I  can  learn.
                                    1.  First  thing  you  have  to  think  about  is  how  to  bring  the  lesson  to  link  with  objective.
                                     2.  It's  21st  century  now,  we  have  to  use  more  than  paper,  handout  or  power  point.
                                    3.  Don't  forget  about  your  students  level.
                                    4.  Make  your  own  rublic,  Don't  copy.  Everything  your  students  do,  you  have  to  evaluate  and  access.
                                    5.  Personality of the teacher.
6. Don't forget the theory you've learn from earlier years.
7. Most important things is you students, make sure they understand everything. If they don't you, it's your job to find out how to make them understand. Don't forget to checking understanding.
8. When you make your own lesson plan. Make sure you understand the lesson plan clearly. Don't forget about the strand and standard. But, the most important thing is evaluation and assessment.
9. Make sure you create enough.
10. Your class should have movement.
11. Let them do, not only listening or see.
12. Think about this "If you actives, your students active. If you lazy, your students lazy." Got it ????? What ever you expect from your students, you have to show it first.
                                    13.  Lastly, teacher ethics.
Here  are  some  advice  of  every  comments  from  teacher  and  classmate  in  teaching  presentation.  I hope  that  it  would  be  very  useful  for  everyone. By  the  way,  if  you  know  your  mistake.  Don't  forget  to  fix  them.

Week 7 - 8 : Weeks of teaching observation at school. (No class).

Teaching  Observation

According  to  the  teaching  observation,  1  -  12  September   2014,  we  have  no  class  and  we  have  to  go  to  the  school  for  observation.  By  the  way  theses  things  are  the  lesson  for  me  too.  Here's  are  my  experiences  with  teaching  observation  in  Kanlayanee Srithammarat  school.
When  I  have  the  observation  for  2  weeks.  I  learnt  so  many  things.  First  of  all,  even  if  the  Kanlayanee  Sithammarat  is  a  big  school  and  very  famous.  They  still  have  some  problem  with  teaching  English,  the  attitude  in  studying  English,  As  I  see,  I  think  that  the  course  of  the  problem  is  because  of  classroom  management.  There  are  more  than  50  students  in  each  room.  I  used  to  sit  with the  student  that  sit  behide  the  classroom.  They  said  that,  they  couldn't  hear  or  see  anything.  So, they  play  the  telephone  instead.  The  most  important  thing  is  there  aren't  any  teaching  materials  fro  students.  Every  day  lesson  are  depends  with  the  book.  They  have  only  two  things  to  learn,  Book  and  workbook.  Another  reason  is  that  the  school  pay  attention  with  the  special  kids  program, such  as  EP,  SMP  or  SMEP.
To  sum  up,  in  my  opinion  every  students  have  their  right  to  learn. These  are  the  problem  we  have  seen  from  many  situation  in  Thailad.   Teachers  or  school  can  not  choose  for  them.  Not  because  of  the  money  they've  paid,  they  all  your  students  and  also  the  future.

Week 5 : Studying outside the classroom.

Tasked  based  learning.

According  to  teaching  presentation,  our  teacher  needs  us  to  us  the  Task-based  lesson  plan.  So,  I  have  to  find  for  the  information  about  it.  These  are  the  example  of  Task-based  lesson  plan  from  the  BBC.
This is a speaking lesson on the theme of planning a night out that uses a listening exercise to provide language input.Preparation and materials You will need to record two people planning a night out on the town.

Pre-task (15-20min)
Aim: To introduce the topic of nights out and to give the class exposure to language related to it. To highlight words and phrases.
  • Show sts pictures of a night out in a restaurant / bar and ask them where they go to have a good night out.
  • Brainstorm words/phrases onto the board related to the topic: people / verbs / feelings etc.
  • Introduce the listening of two people planning a night out. Write up different alternatives on the board to give them a reason for listening e.g. (a) restaurant / bar (b) meet at the train station / in the square. Play it a few times, first time to select from the alternatives, second time to note down some language.
  • Tell them that they are going to plan a class night out and give them a few minutes to think it over.

Task (10min)
  • Students do the task in twos and plan the night. Match them with another pair to discuss their ideas and any similarities and differences.

Planning (10min)
  • Each pair rehearses presenting their night out. Teacher walks around, helps them if they need it and notes down any language points to be highlighted later.

Report (15 min)
  • Class listen to the plans, their task is to choose one of them. They can ask questions after the presentation.
  • Teacher gives feedback on the content and quickly reviews what was suggested. Students vote and choose one of the nights out.

Language Focus (20min)
  • Write on the board five good phrases used by the students during the task and five incorrect phrases/sentences from the task without the word that caused the problem. Students discuss the meaning and how to complete the sentences.
  • Hand out the tapescript from the listening and ask the students to underline the useful words and phrases.
  • Highlight any language you wish to draw attention to e.g. language for making suggestions, collocations etc.
  • Students write down any other language they wish to remember.
To  sum  up,  To  use  this  lesson  plan  effectively.  You  have  to  make  sure  about  it.  And  like  teacher  said  "Practice  Practice  Practice"

Week 5 : Studying inside the classroom.

Teaching  reading  and  Teaching  writing

This  week  is  a  week  of  group  presentation.  After  we  all  have  the  assignment  from  our  teacher.  It's  time  to  present.  This  is  the  information  that  I  catch  up  from  my  friend's  presentation  for  two  group.
Teaching  writing ,  before  we  teach  the  students  a  text.  First,  we  have  to  let  them  know  about   the  important  basic  element  of  the  text.  We  have  to  teaching  the  "nuts  and  bolts".  Then  let  them  learn  to  use  punctuation  feature  in  writing.  After  that  we'll  teach  the  students  about  the  passage  writing  which  are  consists  of  pre-writing,  drafting , editing , revising  and  publishing. Next,  teaching  reading,  Reading  is  the  another  way  to  help  the  students  to  learn  and  get  English.   There  are  two  different  kinds  of  reading.  First,  "the  extensive  reading"  is  reading  as  much  as  possible  at  a  difficulty  level  at  which  you  can.  Second,  "Intensive  reading"  is  the  most  typically  taught  methid  of  teaching  reading.  By  the  way,  you  shouldn't  forget  that  you  have  to  teach  your  students  for  "What's  their  appropriate  level  for  them ?"

These  are  more  things  for all  teacher  to  know  in  teaching  English.

Week 4 : Studying outside the classroom.

Domains  of  learning  is  one  of  the  necessary  skill  for  teacher  and  This  theory  was  founded  by  Benjamin  bloom.
There  are  3  step  just  to  remember  for  Domains  teaching   Knowledge, Attitude,  and  Skills.  These  are  vocabulary  you  have  to  know  in  making  lesson  by  using  Domains  of  Learning.
1. KNOWLEDGE : recall, recite, defines, describes, identifies, knows, labels, lists, matches, names, outlines, recalls, recognizes, reproduces, selects, states.
2. COMPREHENSION: comprehends, converts, defends, distinguishes, estimates, explains, extends, generalizes, gives an example, infers, interprets, paraphrases, predicts, rewrites, summarizes, translates.
3. APPLICATION: applies, changes, computes, constructs, demonstrates, discovers, manipulates, modifies, operates, predicts, prepares, produces, relates, shows, solves, uses.
4. ANALYSIS: analyzes, breaks down, compares, contrasts, diagrams, deconstructs, differentiates, discriminates, distinguishes, identifies, illustrates, infers, outlines, relates, selects, separates.
5. SYNTHESIS: categorizes, combines, compiles, composes, creates, devises, designs, explains, generates, modifies, organizes, plans, rearranges, reconstructs, relates, reorganizes, revises, rewrites, summarizes, tells, writes.
6. EVALUATION: appraises, compares, concludes, contrasts, criticizes, critiques, defends, describes, discriminates, evaluates, explains, interprets, justifies, relates, summarizes, supports.

By  the  way,  you  have  to  remember  that  we  have  3  domains  in  teaching  by  using  domain  of  learning .  These  three  thing  have  to  make  the  goal  of  learning  process.
